Winter Inspiration

Sometimes I just need to be inspired.  If I can see something that might fit into an image or become a backdrop for an image, I can figure out the rest. So today I decided to walk. It was 34 degrees outside and sunny.  My fingers we very cold where they peeked out of my fingerless gloves. As I shot, I imaged how and when I could use what I was seeing to create something of my own.  Perhaps I was just fascinated with the frost or a new bud on a tree.  It is so cold and only January, why are things budding?

This grassy area has always been just around the corner.  I just never considered it a place to put a senior or a maternity couple for a portrait. Inspiration.

Same place different point of view–fun to put a child out here frolicking in the tall grass. Inspiration

I do love this grass.

I love the design on this ice and its transparency–not sure how to use this–yet.

Amazed at the awakening process going on already.  Signs of Spring coming.

Two seasons combined–Fall and Winter.

If only the ice were thick enough to skate on or just slide on.

Cinderella’s pumpkin cast aside. Remembrances of a warmer day and a little girl living her fantasy as a princess.

A bird bath frozen over with leaves stuck until it thaws.  I immediately thought of a model just below the surface of the ice with just her face exposed and maybe a body part.  I will have to figure this one out as it is so intriguing. Inspiration

Don’t know much about plants but was so surprised to see these little popcorn flower(?) in the dead of winter. Reminiscent of snow balls. I think I will pop some popcorn when I get home.  Inspiration.

So I was inspired and now I have the ideas–I just have to figure out how to put them in print.  Take a walk, look around, get inspired.

Thanks for stopping by.  Joanne

About ~ ~ joanne.thomas.photographer~~

I am retired, starting a new career. I love shooting portraits. People are so fun and interesting--I try to bring out there personalities and capture them in images. Children are especially interesting little people, who love to tell you all they know and are so uninhibited. I enjoy shooting weddings to capture all the details and emotions of the day. Between photo sessions I keep shooting --to learn, to experiment--to create art. The industry is ever evolving and I want to give my clients the most exciting and lasting images, full of their love of life expressing their personality.
