Auburn, Washington Wedding Photographer~ Mel and Justin

Melissa and Justin met in high school.  They were both in leadership roles there.  While attending a leadership conference, they started to develop their relationship into what it is now.  It has been four years.  Both are very young and very talented.  She can sew up a dress before 8:30 in the morning and he just began a new career as a graphic designer.  When I first met Mel and Justin, they came to my house to talk about wedding shots.  They had their list, and we had ours and they matched.  We visited again at the rehearsal and were made to feel like we were part of the family.  I really enjoyed the photo sessions with this couple.  They were so relaxed and entertaining.  Justin can keep everyone around him laughing and having fun. Mel is just as gracious with her smiles and willingness to do whatever we asked of them. One of my favorite weddings.  I wish then a long and wonderful life together.

The Hollywood School House in Woodinville, Washington.  The bottom floor of the school contains a wine cellar where you can order wine and cheese plates with a couple of outside patios.

Mel chose beautiful orange flowers and stunning sequined heels.  She loved these shoes–no wonder.

The black band shows Justin’s creativity.

Mel made her own veil to match her gown–

Mom helps Mel into her gown.

Sisters. . .

All ready to go.

There was a wonderful old saloon bar in the reception area–who could resist….

Oh yeah–the fun part of the wedding being a groomsman.

Attitude–and a fun time.

I love the windows in this big old building and the light was just perfect. . .as Mel watches the guys down below.

“With this ring  . . . . .”

Seth sang a special song for Mel and Justin.

The part we all wait for–breathe!

“Can you believe it?”

There was something about Mel’s dress that attracted bugs– they like to get under the fine tulle outer layer of her gown–Justin saves the day for her as they laugh ….

On the steps of the school house.

Such a beautiful spot with all the lush green and the stream

Mel and Justin are so in love and so happy it was hard to choose just one or two images of them.  It is so appropriate for them to be sent off with bubbles and laughter–it matches their personalities perfectly.

One more image. . . .

I had taken a photo of Mel looking into a mirror.  Much to my horror when I was editing the image, I found streaks on the mirror–you know the kind–the streaks on your newly cleaned windows when the sun finally hits them.  It was unusable as there is no way know to me to get rid of the streaks and maintain the beautiful image of Mel peering back at herself.  So I improvised and put Justin in the mirror.  It is a fantasy image–but it was lots of work and lots of fun.

Thanks for stopping by.

About ~ ~ joanne.thomas.photographer~~

I am retired, starting a new career. I love shooting portraits. People are so fun and interesting--I try to bring out there personalities and capture them in images. Children are especially interesting little people, who love to tell you all they know and are so uninhibited. I enjoy shooting weddings to capture all the details and emotions of the day. Between photo sessions I keep shooting --to learn, to experiment--to create art. The industry is ever evolving and I want to give my clients the most exciting and lasting images, full of their love of life expressing their personality.
