We planted sunflowers this year. At least three of us did… The plan was to grow them from tiny seeds to 12 ft in height –to show the little ones how a giant plant can come from a tiny seed–then to lop off it’s head and enter in the state fair. The only problem is that the sun didn’t shine enough to grow the sunflower fast enough to mature before it was fair time–started three days ago. The seeds are not all formed yet. That stubborn bee was not about to be dislodged so I could shoot this image without it–so it becomes the focal point–way to much smack dab in the middle of the image. I did get the rule of thirds accomplished on the flower–does that count??
I love the bright yellow of these flowers as they are so appropriately named–SUNflowers. Maybe next year. . . . .
