Child Photography in Kent ~ Gabriel

Yesterday our family celebrated my oldest grandson’s 9th birthday.  I did get him to let me do a mini photo shoot with him–(for mom).  Nine year olds are pretty cooperative but a little stiff in front of the camera unless I just caught him playing unaware.  I chose to set him up the best I could. I used my 50mm f/1.4 lens and by now you are figuring it is my favorite and it is at this point.

This was taken in the afternoon but much too early to get good light.  The day was a little overcast but still way to bright for good exposure.

Taken much later in the day –the sun is going down and there are clouds covering some of it.  Gabe is not as loose and relaxed as I would like him to me.  Something for me to work on.

It is amazing how good we think we are until we see what we did and notice all the things that could be a whole lot better. LOL

About ~ ~ joanne.thomas.photographer~~

I am retired, starting a new career. I love shooting portraits. People are so fun and interesting--I try to bring out there personalities and capture them in images. Children are especially interesting little people, who love to tell you all they know and are so uninhibited. I enjoy shooting weddings to capture all the details and emotions of the day. Between photo sessions I keep shooting --to learn, to experiment--to create art. The industry is ever evolving and I want to give my clients the most exciting and lasting images, full of their love of life expressing their personality.
