I have played with and owned cameras for as long as I can remember. What is different now??–time—–I have some time to take images and to play with Light Room and Photoshop and to read and learn, learn, learn. I took THE advice to read the manual of my camera (Nikon D80) and I know my camera and what it can do. I learned to shoot in manual mode —not easy at first. All those numbers and settings baffled me–but not for long–I figured out how to get the exposure I want and am still fine tuning my exposure. I discovered I like to take portraits–oh heavens–I was hoping I would want to excel in a different area –so many millions of photographers. But I believe that God puts the path before you and you walk down it. That is what I am doing. I am just doing it and waiting to see what happens. I feel excitement and exhilaration when I shoot–I love the process of being creative with the camera in my hands. I sometimes love what I see on my computer screen after a shoot and most often think–oh my–I should have done this or that–while my client is thrilled with the outcome. I practice practice and practice some more. I take my camera everywhere I go–today it is to University of Washington Stadium to a football game. I am posting a couple different styles of photography that I am good at and yet still learning more about.
Quite often my grand-kids let me take their portraits.
